Why is it that so many automatically assume--if they don't get their way--that the other party (who got what the losing party wanted) had to have an angle? I know it's disappointing to want something, and to lose out to another party. It happens all of the time. Sometimes, we win, and we lose other times.
Additionally, Don raised a point that I notice seems to get missed in a lot of real-estate transactions. Every offer has a set of price and terms. Many people fail to realize that the terms are often more important than the price. For example, let's say person A offers a higher price and will ask the seller to jump through 50 hoops; whereas, person B offers a price that's $20K lower with fewer hoops. The offer with fewer hoops is the better offer for a seller who wants a cleaner (or less complex) transaction.
Keep in mind that an offer with more hoops might cost a seller to expend more money/time. In other words, those addition hoops might cause the seller to expend more than the $20K discount.... more

I am co-owner of a large, two bedroom camp with a wonderful view on Escutarsis Lake in Lowell, 20 minutes from Lincoln. It is on owned property, not leased land, a rare find for this area. It appraised for almost $100,000 three years ago, but has not been occupied since, so my family would agree to take less. Great boating, waterskiing, fishing, swimming, on a warm water lake.
