In any market an "average" can still be reasonably determined. Two of several ways -
1. Ask an agent to run a report for the past year (or whatever timeframe you would like) to see for a specific location the average days on market for homes that sold. (probably the easiest way...)
2. Go on Zillow and type in a address for a location you want. Then look at the comparable sales for that area and look at the price history to see when the listing was posted...do that for several sold homes and that can give you an average. Keep in mind that you may see in the history that the home was listed, then unlisted for a period, then listed again...in that scenario, your average should be the worst case scenario when you factor in pricing which may have been too high.
Google Levittown...when the search results come up, look down about 5-6 spaces in the search results...when you find a link to city-data click on it. It will tell you everything you could possible need to know about Levittown. It's up to YOU to decide whether the neighborhood in question is a good fit for you. Realtors should not be steering clients in where they should or shouldn't live, but should provide the tools for the buyer to find the information on their own! Good Luck...do your homework!... more
It is true that homes in Bristol Township are less but that is for a reason. Colleen, what I tell all my clients is that everything looks great during the day so they need to go back to the property at night. Check out if there is any Grafitti anywhere. If there are kids hanging out at the park or on corners after dark it is a rule to keep trucking. ALso, check out how the neighbors are taking care of their homes Please remember that you are buying a neighborhood and not only a home.
