this is a very safe neighborhood. Believe me, i had left my garage open several times gone to work and come back and everything was ok. Other times my neighbors had actually close it for me. I know it sounds crazy. But i am a mom and sometimes we do things like this.

Hi Linda,

I have run a crime search, and can't post all the info to this page. So first, here is a link you can use to enter the zip code, which will report out all info for that area...including the crime report: http://www.austinrealestateadvice.com/community_reports.shtml

Here is a quick report though: The national average for each type of crime equals a score of 1.0, so a score of 2.0 would represent twice the risk as the national average, and a score of 0.50 would represent half the risk of the national average. In 78749, the higher risks are: Robbery at 2.68, Larceny at 1.47, Theft at 1.33, and Assault at 1.31. Overall, the score for 78749 is 1.42.

Hope this helps. Again, there is more detailed information to be found when running a neighborhood search.

Alan Gabriel

Linda,
Goto the city's crime statistics page at http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/police/crimeinformation.htm Select "current crime information." You will be taken to the city's GIS viewer. You can search by zip code by selecting "Geographic Area" on the left of the page & then selecting the Map Layer at the bottom to zip code.

I hope this helps.
