What defines a safe neighborhood is subjective, as everyone's standards are different. I would recommend you obtain local police activity reports, and talk to the neighbors in the area you look to buy in. I always suggest to my clients to visit the neighborhood at different times of the day, different days of the week, and just sit in your car for a few minutes and observe...or even try to talk to some of the neighbors you might find outside or taking a walk...they're always your best source of information.
