Hello Weezi, You can also go to the nearest police precinct and ask for a recent police blotter to see what criminal activity has been recorded.

Dear Weezanapoli:

Due to the Fair Housing Act Real Estate Agents are limited in what infomration they can share with clients.

The Philadelphia Police Department website has an interactive crime map that will provide you with clear information. Additionally, in Philly there is a site called "EVERY BLOCK" that can also give you information regarding the neighborhood and activities.

My colleagues are all correct.

If a client were to approach me seeking housing in walking distance of Temple University I would show that person apartments or homes for rent in exactly this location.

There are some super blogs out there that will show you up to date comments from the residents of the area. You can ask this question on pages like that and get a lot more info from prospective neighbors.

Best of luck,

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

We can not answer such questions because no one knows and it would be pure speculation. You will have to seek out that type of answer on your own.
