Crime isn't much of an issue for Center Moriches in general. We do have a high percentage in drug abuse, unfortunately enough, though.

It's also a fairly noisy road. It's busy so there is a lot of traffic and if you're close by the fire station, the alarm can be unbearable to some.

The best thing for you to do, is drive around in the area and ask people you see walking around about the area and what they like or dislike about the area. That may help address your concerns. You can also contact the local Police 7th Precinct to ask about crime rates and calls in the area.

Center Moriches is a very nice community. Railroad Ave. is heavily trafficked compared to other streets in the area.

I've lived in center moriches my whole life and I love it here it's got a good spence of community great amenities for its size. As for crime I believe it's low and drugs they are there but not to much of a problem it doesn't effect the towns family feel and safety. And I loved the school

Beyond the traffic which will be constant, it is a nice neighborhood.

I work as an agent in Center Moriches AND I live there. I love it! There's a great sense of community and my neighbors vary from young to old. Besides the local authorities, there are several neighborhood watch groups in the area and I strongly believe that helps keep crime down.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
