The City Council adopted Ordinance No. 28284 to amend Title 20 of the San Jose Municipal Code (the Zoning Code) to establish requirements for secondary units (granny units) that reflect the parameters tested in the Secondary Unit Pilot Program. This ordinance establishes requirements for secondary units (granny units) and revises the schedule of parkland impact fees charged pursuant to Chapters 14.25 abd 19.38 of the San Jose Municipal Code to establish parkland impact fees for secondary units equal to 50 percent of the fees applicable to single room occupancy (SRO) units.
