I'm not sure of the exact location of which you speak but a lot of house were hit by the 2008 flood - hundreds will be demolished. I wouldn't buy in the flooded areas. For crime, stay out of the Wellington Heights and Mound View neighborhoods.

I don't think there is something wrong because foreclosures are a nationwide issuse. Also, job losees and income dropping are making homeowners not been able to afford the mortgage payment.
