601 Pacheco as a GG Heights address does not look like it is walking friendly to stores, restaurants...?

You ar right Michael, however the neighborhood is close to many shopping areas. Walk scores can be confusing in San Francisco because of our hills and slopes that come upon you after a few short flat blocks. Go see the property on Sunday Open House and see how you feel in person.

Yes, you are correct Michael. Have you been to the property? Seeing it in person always makes a big difference. It's open tomorrow 2-4PM:

Walkability scores don't take terrain into account, I think it's all based on radius projections. Obviously it is situated within fantastic proximity to servies at 9th at Judah, over on Taravel or Wes Portal all within walking distance and down hill to get there. A climb back up for sure but if you are young it's all possible and likely good for you.

The closest store would be on 9th and Kirkham and then from 9th and Judah is where you can start finding places to dine.

I for one could probably use a good walk everyday, but it depends on your wants and needs. Follow your intiution when making such a large purchase. But, also realize that it's not a perfect world and it's very difficult to find "EVERYTHING" when purchasing a home.

Cheers.

Michael,

Golden Gate Heights is a pretty nice area in San Francico. The nearest shops and restaurants are on Irving Street. Although Irving Street is seven blocks away, it's still "somewhat walkable." Check out any addresses on http://www.walkscore.com to find out how walkable they are.

Also visit http://www.realestatesf.com/Community. It has a lot of good information about San Francisco.

Good Luck.

Hi Michael,

I think the Inner Sunset would be better as would Lower Pac Heights, NoPa, West Portal, Inner Richmond, Noe Valley if you want to be able to have shops and restaurants within walking distance. The best way to find a good fit for yourself is to visit these neighborhoods. You'd be surprised how walking around will give you a good sense of what each offers or doesn't. There are so many great neighborhoods in SF and each offers something different.

Good luck!

Hi Michael
You should go take a look at the area and see how you feel about it. Your nearest commercial area will be the Noriega corridor off 19th Ave. You should go park at the house, and walk to Noriega. The next closest and very cool area, is the Inner Sunset, which is a bit of a hike. If you like walking, it may not be an issue. If you want to walk out your front door into a commercial area, it probably won't work for you.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best Regards
Eric

Well, this property is close to Irving St. And Noriega St. shopping & dining, but you have to take a long walk :)

If unfamiliar with the area, why not take the time and visit, see everything firsthand; or consider a Google search for shops, restaurants, etc, and Google Maps for distance....
