Depends on budget. Park Slope, Carrol Gardens, Cobble Hill more expensive. For boardwalk Manhattan Beach or coney Island.

Wallabout is an awesome and very historic neighborhood and we're right on the border of Williamsburg, Clinton Hill, Fort Greene and Vinegar Hill so 5 minutes to everything!

Brooklyn happens to have several communities where most of your described desirabilty exist. You might find less pubs in some compared to others...Walk around safety may depend more on what time of the day or night you walk. Overall Brooklyn is a great city with many wonderful communities.

What type of rentals are available with a view of NY City or the other sprectrum, down by the boardwalk in an older smaller row house with a lot of character? What are price ranges if we only rent for three months with a dog? Is our scenario even possible? Where are the restaurants and pubs?? Ha ha

More desirable is subjective, and should be dictated by your personal preferences, wants, needs, lifestyle, etc.
