Sue, your question is a little vague. Are you asking about where they test water for quality? Where the region obtains it's water supply? Whether a specific property get's it's water supply from a well or water authority. Let us know a little more detail and I'm sure we can get you a better answer.

TMWA (775-834-8080) would probably have the answer for your property. In general, Reno and some of Sparks get their water from the Truckee river. Outining areas and smaller cites get their water from wells. Sometimes, oulining property owners share a private well service.
If you are concern about your water quality you can contact your provider. Or, you can make use of a number of testing services such as the State Testing Service which is located on the UNR campus.

I hope this helps

Sue: Are you asking a general question as to the various ways water to a residence is obtained? Or, are you asking about where water for a particular property is obtained?
