Thinking about moving to this subdivision Chaparral Estates. But noticed its pretty close to Southern Pacific Railroad. can you let me know what train noise is like?
Hi, There is an active Rail line just east of the intersection you sited. Trains do run, but on an infrequent schedule. Chaparral Estates is a lovely community, I live here and am familiar with the location and surrounding area. If I can be of further assistance to you , please call me. You can Google my name for information. Regards
I am in neely ranch a few blocks away from the railroad (cooper & elliot, the 1st 3 months were hard but now i can't even hear it anymore. i am in the same location for over 5 years., just make sure you are a few blocks away don't be next to the railroad your home will shake if it is too close, and it's bad when you have kids, they like playing near the tracks, not very good.
I live in the neighbor a little further south than Chaparral Estates and I wouldn't notice the noise but our dogs (and other neighborhood dogs) howl nearly with every train. Unfortunately they have to blown the horn at each intersection (and there are about 3 that you can hear easily) due to law and the train goes by all times of day and night. So as long as you don't have dogs or dogs that howl, then you will get used to the noise eventually.
I once lived right beside the train tracks in Tempe and after awhile you never notice them.

Personally it is not loud at all, however what is quite for me may be loud for you.
I would suggest that you park in front of the home you are considering , when the trains are coming through.
Contact SPR, they can give you an approximate time.
Good Luck
Patrick
