You can see the entire API report for Santa Clara County at http://www.michellejudycarr.com/PageManager/default.aspx/Pag
Another resource is GreatSchools.net, where parents rate the schools. Many of the best schools are located in older established neighborhoods without modern apartments. Evergreen is one area with many newer properties and overall high API scores you may want to consider.
I offer a special search function that allows buyers like you to search by school name, API scores and more. Let me know if you'd like a free account. Just Call 408-252-8900.
That is a very subjective decision.
I recommend the Saratoga Schools or the Cupertino schools. However homes in the Saratoga and Cupertino area are very expensive.
The Campbell and Santa Clara Schools are also very good, and the homes in the Campbell and Santa Clara area are less expensive than Saratoga or Cupertino.

My fellow Agents and Brokers have touched on the qualitative aspects of your decision; however, I assume API score is one of the variables you will review when making this decision. The easiest way to find this information is by:
1) Going to: http://www.SchoolAndHousing.com
2) At the top of the page, under “Mobileâ€, hold your mouse over "School Locator" and then select "Find Schools by API"
3) Select the County, School Type, and API range
4) Select between API Score, API Momentum, or Price-API Ratio
These sites may be of help in finding a rental:
Are you looking for rentals when you refer to Modern Apts.? There are a few areas with newer apts. for rent, I can think of Avalon on Winchester in Los Gatos.
