M&M,

Let me start by mentioning that I cannot represent you appropriately because Princeton is not my geographic area of expertise. With that clear, my advice is to assemble your buying team first. Your team should include the following professionals: 1. A local real estate attorney. 2. A local mortgage professional. 3. A licensed home inspector. 4. A successful real estate agent.

It can be fun and relatively simple to surf the real estate sites and visit open houses. These activities can help you learn about the current inventory and asking prices. But it takes professional assistance to help you make a wise buying decision.

Finding the right agent for you can be accomplished in various ways. Interview three agents. Talk to your friends or co-workers who have recently bought or sold in the area. Although I can't personally assist you in Princeton, I can offer a referral. This is another way in which the right agent can be found...a referral from another real estate agent. I am aligned with Cartus, the largest relocation company in the world. I can connect you with a Referral Specialist (CCRS). For an agent to be a part of the relocation network and receive referrals, the agent has to attend regular training, maintain service and producation levels, and report back to the relo company about the dealings with the assigned client. The advantages to the client (you) are many. You'll be given a contact at Cartus with whom you can communicate about your buying process and the service you receive. In short, working with a referred relocation agent is like your employer has given you an executive relocation package. All of this for free to you.

Let me know if you would like to work with a relocation referral specialist.

If not, interview, ask questions, assemble your team.

All the best,

As Jeremy stated, posting on a site like this you will find many who would love to help you, but it is all about who you are comfortable with and who you trust. This is only something that can be determined by meeting with several buyer's agents. Feel free to get in touch to further discuss.
