I attended grade school not far from your area of interest. Even then neighbors didn't feel safe outside after dark. I had friends living in the area and would not be allowed nor have the desire to leave their home after dark. Local crime maps can show you if there has been a change.

There have been no earthquakes in this area and a tornado hit North Minneapolis last summer, making it unlikely that another one will hit the same space. (Actually, the bit about the tornado is simply an old wives' tale.)

As far as 'safe' in other ways, I suggest that you drive around the area during different times of day and check on the statistics for the area on the internet to find out the information you seek. Your idea of 'safe' and someone else's idea of 'safe' might differ. This is something you would have to decide for yourself.

Aside from calling the local police and looking at crime stats you can get a feel for an area by using Google Maps and/or driving through the area.

Hello, We are unable to say if an area is "safe" . You need to check the crime stats page for your state/county.
Good luck

Sorry, and you may not know this, but it is against the law for a Realtor to give you advice on the safety of a neighborhood. You need to check with the MPD (Minneapolis Police Department) for this sort of thing.

I would recommend that you call the local precinct, police station and ask the questions that concern you regarding any neighborhood. Also check different websites for statistic regarding areas through out different communities.
Examples would be:

Hi Pete,

Safe is a relative term and means different things to different people.

One aspect of safety could be measured in the amount of crime in an area.

Here is a link to recent crime maps in Minneapolis:

I hope this helps.
