Momof2, Home Buyer in Georgetown, TX

Is Crystal Knolls a good, safe subdivision? It's off of 971 just east of 130. We're thinking about buying a house there. Thanks!

Beware moving to Williamson County. Crystal Knolls is out of the city limits and under Williamson County jurisdiction. My husband and I unfortunately owned a house in Crystal Knoll- check out what happened to me. It is hard to tell who to fear more Wilco Sheriffs or thieves and vandals.

If you have a choice- move to another county.

I don't really like the neighborhood at all. I live in Katy Crossing, which is very close, but my sister lives in Crystal Knoll Terrace. My car was broken into in her driveway and my purse was stolen. The area looks kind of junky, too.

Hi Momof2:

In the past couple of months I've moved two different sets of clients into Crystal Knoll subdivision. My clients felt that it was a good buy for their price range and they felt comfortable deciding on Crystal Knoll.

I do agree with my colleague Rolf that the police department is a great resource to determine what crime if any has been reported there.

Best way for you to determine the safety is to contact the police dept. and ask the questions that are important to you. Everyone has different perceptions of safety, price values, location, schools, etc.

I've lived, worked and raised 3 kids here for the last 15 years. Overall I don't think you can go wrong in Georgetown. We are the county seat for Williamson County and the law enforcement is very strict.

How long have you lived in Georgetown or are you new to the area?
