Hi Tom -Here is hoping you come to Pearl River,"The Town of Friendly People" - my wife & I moved up here 8 years ago from Brooklyn and we love it. For the first 5 years, I still was working in Mid-town NY by Radio City Music Hall. I found the best way for me was to take the train into Hoboken, then transfer to the PATH, which deposited me at 6th & 33rd, If the weather was cooperating and I felt energetic, I had an 18 block walk otherwise I hopped on a NY subway train for 2 quick stops and I was almost right in my building. The cost - monthly ticket for NJT train to Hoboken is currently $215 a month. PATH costs $52 for 40 trip ticket - one thing to look into is the Transitchek program - it is usually adminstered through your company and you can save money by paying for your commutation cost with pre-tax money effectively lowering your tax burden.
How your wife commutes will be determined by where she is working - besides the train - which can also leave you at Secaucus Junction to transfer for a train into Penn Station (7th Ave & 33rd St) or you can take the bus into the Port Authority at 8th Ave & 41nd St.. I hope this info helps.

Hello Thomas, Previous answers are all correct but there are other ways as well. You could drive over the Bridge to Tarrytown and take Metro North into Penn Station. We have a ferry from Haverstraw that could take you to Tarrytown as well. Please let me know if I can be of assistance as I live in the neighboring town of Nanuet(train also stops there as well) and very, very familiar with the market conditions and inventory in your desired area. Best wishes. Regards Allan

Dear Thomas
There is a train that goes from downtown Peal River to Manhattan.
This is the Pascack Valley line and the train runs 7 days a week.
You need to change trains at Secaucus transfer to get the train to Penn Station or you can stay on that train which will take you to Hoboken at which point you take the path to Wall Street or Downtown Manahttan.
You can view the schedule and rates here: http://www.njtransit.com
Remember you are looking for the Pascack Valley line.
Any more questions please call me @ my toll free # 1888-822-0797
Good luck

Hi Tom,

Located right in Pearl River is the New Jersey Transit Pascack Valley LIne. Your wife can commute to Manhattan on this train which goes to Secacus Junction where she can then take the PATH train to Penn Station. Depending on where she works, she can also take a bus into the Port Authority which will take approximately 45 minutes from Pearl River.

If you would like more information about the train including schedules and fares you can look at the NJ Transit web site http://www.njtransit.com/sf/sf_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=TrainTo

If you would like to view any homes in Pearl River feel free to contact me at any time.
