A real estate agent should not answer that question, there are web sites will share those statistics with you. It could be a legal issue for many reasons. Ethics 101 for any law abiding real estate agent.

You need to get answers from people who live there. Realtors will sugar coat there answers. There all hungry for sales. I used to live there the area has changed to a very bad area. home break ins, things as simple has aluminum cans stolen from inside your property. Go on a weekend and walk the area talk to the people who live there.

The best way to feel out a neighborhood is to drive by at different times of the day and week. A weekday will be different from a Saturday night for example. Go out to eat at a local restaurant and visit local stores. Visit the nearest police station and ask questions.

Good luck!

The best thing to do is use a couple of websites
http://mapping.arjis.org/CrimeMAPS for crime statistics
http://meganslaw.ca.gov for sex offenders
Also check with the local police station and talk to them about the specific area you are interested in.
You can also use my website to help you search for homes in any are you choose.

Pandaba00,

No agent will advise you on the safety of any neighborhood. The best way to find out this information is
to investigate the area yourself. You obviously have a preconceived idea about the area or you would not
be asking the question. I live close by and would be glad to work with you in finding a property if you need
an agent.

Hi Pandaba00,
You will be hard pressed to find a real estate professional that will tell you that an area is safe or not safe, due to liability, steering, etc. My best advice to you is to drive by the area that you are interested at varied times of the day and night throughout the week to try to get a feel for if it "safe" to you. If you would like to go on a home tour or have any other questions regarding financing, etc., feel free to contact me directly and I would be happy to assist you.

Take Care & Good Luck,
