What property are you referring to? As others have said, it varies from property to property. In addition to utilities & maintenance, some properties offer "common ammenities" (like parks, pool, club house, excercise room, etc.) This can add to the HOA fees.
Home Owners Association (HOA) fees depend on the property type and services that are covered. Townhomes have typically the lowest HOA fees (starting at $100/month) because all utilities are paid by the owner. Also, most of exterior repair would be covered by the individual owners. High-end condo buildings where heat, gas, water and other utilities are included in the association fees can be as high as $350 per month and even over $400 in more affluent communities. In many cases, HOA fees also pay for pool access, gym, clubhouse etc.
