As others have indicated, its about 15 minutes depending on many things such as construction, traffic, etc. But living in Mt. Washington comes with quick access to many areas. How about 5 minutes to the North Shore taking the goat path down to the West End Bridge. Minutes to the Parkway to get to the airport, the mall at Robinson, or just about anywhere. Or drop down over the hill to the dreaded Route 51 into the South Hills or the other hill down Mcardle to get into town Southside, or North to Cranberry. Oh and then there is the view and much less expensive living than the downtown area.

Like mentioned below about 12 mins. I usually take carson to birmingham bridge to fifth and it's pretty smooth even during rush hour.

Google Maps is a nice tool to use for commute times and options, including bus transportation times and bicycle routes. You can type in door-to-door addresses and get a reasonable estimate of travel time and route options.

A rough guess between Mt Washington and Oakland turned up about 14-16 minutes. Rush hour traffic can add 10-15 minutes to that.

By car with low to moderate traffic about 10 minutes and with heavier rush hour traffiic 15 to 20 minutes. For information on PAT Bus commute times consult the schedules on the Port Authority's web site.
