Chris, I live and work in Umatilla which is very near to Paisley. I would be more than happy to help you get into a rental in this area. You can find my contact information on my website.
Chris, You may want to make use of some of the tools available to the public......First I would look through here to get a general idea of what current Gov.programs/loans exist. You can answer a few question to determine if you might be eligible...................http://www.govloans.gov/govloans_en.portal?_nfpb=true&_p
It is the Gov. site for all current Gov. loans
You might want to make use of the free counseling, assistance and advice you can receive throu the Gov.
http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/hcc/hcs.cfm
Or the Gov. approved homebuyers courses where you can learn about any local programs, make contacts, and get credit repair assistance.....http://www.hud.gov/buying/localbuying.cfm
This also has a lot of info......http://www.hud.gov/buying/index.cfm#programs
You can use this site to view properties and get familiar with prices ect..http://www.mortgagenewsdaily.com/wiki/REO_Database_List.asp
Rentals, these two sites may help....http://www.zilpy.com/ ...http://www.rentometer.com/
Good luck, Dunes
Chris,
How wonderful to see you want to be closer to your children! When you say you have 'bad credit' there are ways to overcome that, especially with gov't loans and first time homebuyer programs. Do you know what your fico score is? Paisley and the surrounding area's are so nice - rural, affordable, more breathing space so I know why your ex and kids love it there. Don't rule out the area's close to Paisley either, still a shorter drive. Where do you work? Are you trying to stay within a short commute to work AND close to kids?
If you still want to rent, I suggest googling rentals in the area, but $800 is kinda on the low side. Also, get in your car and drive the area when you have a day off...there are always lots of signs by owner that you may not find on the internet for rentals.
As far as a house goes, what are you looking for? I can do a quick check and see what I come up with. I don't do rentals, but have many friends who do, so I could also ask them what they have or whats coming up soon.
Best wishes!
