give me the motgage company name and account number. My ex is living inthe house and we are co-owners and he won't give me the information. The house is supposed to be sold, and I don't have the money to hire another attorney as I live out of state , in Fl taking care of my mother, and on disability. The home is in Brandon, Mississippi
I am a Realtor in Brandon, MS and would suggest you go to:
http://www.annual Credit Report.com.
As long as your name is on the mortgage, this report will list the Mortgage company, the amount of the loan, the account #, and the telephone # of who is monitoring the account. This will cost you but this is far less expensive than an attorney, the information is immediate, and a credit report is always something you will need to know in these economic times
Are you on the mortgage? Do you know the mortgage company. If you are on the mortgage and need to find out who the mortgage company is you can search the public county records and find the deed of trust which will have the mortage companys name and contact info. You can go to rankincounty.org which is the county for Brandon and click on Online services and go from there. If I can help you drop me a line I live in the area.
I would look on the internet and find which agent has the home listed. Call the agent and ask for the attorney who is handling the closing. Call that attorney and that should be your gate to get info. I think that your husband cant sell the house without your signatre anyway. It is that way in North Carolina I am sure. If he is selling it and by chance he does not need your signature. Than I would think somewhere you may have gave up your rights in a seperation agreement or something. In North Carolina we can not sell the house without the other spouses signature. The only way it is bypassed is if the seperation agreement says so, there is a power of attorney involved, or if the seperation is final and the house got passed on to one of the parties.
Are you on the mortgage?? Are you on the Deed?? If you are on the mortgage, you can call the bank. If you are on the deed, it will be on your closing paperwork. If the property is in a state that does not close with a title company, you can contact the closing atty. office and ask for a preliminary closing statement including all pay-offs. Hope this helps you.
