We are purchasing a home in Upper Macungie Twp, (Allentown) PA. We are in contract right now and trying to find out what it will cost to hook up to public sewer in this area, before our closing date. If anyone know please let me know or what I need to do. Thank you, AMR

Hi,

It all depends on how many feet it is to the sewer lines. But Mike is right. You want to contact the township to find out. If you'd like for me to contact them for you, give me a call.

Atriplets,

Thanks for your question. I would recommend contacting the township. The general manager in the sewage office is Richard Henderson and the office manager is Karen Loehr. The number is (610) 398-9171.

I'm not sure if you are purchasing a new home or a preexisting home but, a new Ordinance is in place to protect homeowners when purchasing a home. This ordinance requires a sewer inspection before a property can be transferred. A plumber must be hired to inspected the sewer lateral and the sump pump discharge.

Feel free to check the website too.

Hope that helps! Enjoy your new home.
