I would look for a REALTOR that has the designations of CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) and GRI (Graduate REALTORS Institute). The CRS designation indicates that the REALTOR has the Advanced Education and actual sales experience to secure the designation. The GRI designation is obtained by completing three successive modules of multiple classes. I am in the real estate business and would look for these attributes in addition to sales history to select the one to represent me if I purchased elsewhere. It's often a person's single largest investment. I'd want to know that they have the knowledge and experience to best represent me. There is a website that will display all CRS designees within a desired market area. (www.crs.com)

I hear that question asked often.
When I go to a car lot, to buy a car I do not ask who sold the most cars this year, or month. I go in the dealership and bond with the salesperson that has the best customer service and personable skills. It is easy to see if the sales person is new or experienced. I am sure there must be a good reason you ask. Keep in mind the top agent is not always the best for you,,,, I am an agent now for about several years, I have very good customer service skills and a very good success rate. The fall through rate for me and expired listing rate for me is good. I am very successful in my listing skills . If are looking to list .............maybe you should look at marketing plans Wed Apr 23 2008, 18:03

while i don't know the answer to your question specifically, you could try driving around to different open houses and picking up brochures that agents tend to leave outside of the property. sometimes it will say "top producer" or other such language, as well as lists the name of the agent. this person is not always the same as the one at the open house as they seem to work in teams.
in my experience, i saw this type of information in higher priced areas but am not sure if it is limited to these areas. Mon Jul 9 2007, 15:08
