Julia,
There area number of excellent Real Estate agents in the Flemington area. I feel that I am one of those and have focused in the Fleminton area for years and am a Hunterdon County resident. In todays market I would strongly recommend that you interview a few agents and brokerages prior to making the decision. It ends up being a chemistry thing.
There are areas that you can can attempt to market your property on your own, however, if you are not experienced with the nuances of both the law as well as the pitfalls it can become a frustrating task. I recall an article published and posted at th National Association of realtors web site that indicated that on average a for sale by owner property sells for 15.4% less. This is far less than the full brokerage fee.
If I can be of any assistance please let me know

Start by dialing 908-884-5757 that is the cell phone number of Victor Kaminski Broker Associate and Owner of Marivic GMAC Real Estate.
You can list it with me and we'll handle all the marketing and won't get paid a penny until we sell it.

Cheers. ;-)

I hope that's what you meant?
See this is just an example of how difficult marketing can be if you're not a marketing expert.
Not to be snide in any way however this profession is tried by many where few succeed and fewer truly have their client’s best interest at heart. I know I'm not supposed to say that but it is true, I'm not knocking the profession or realtors, just those bad apples. But... Even the good ones, so many of them know nothing or very little about marketing which is EXTREMELY important when selling your home.

If you're question meant you wish to do it on your own, then I would list it anywhere and everywhere, create hundreds of full color flyers, post them at supermarkets, dry cleaners, everywhere people go in great numbers, which hopefully includes your open house!

Post ads in the homes magazines
Don't waste a lot of money in newspaper ads unless you have a smaller local paper that is popular reading
The web had thousands of websites pertaining to real estate, post on as many as you can and regularly but keep those ads updated and remove when status or price changes. Even if you sell on your own you are bound by many of the same laws real estate salespeople are. Something many FSBO's don't realize until they are fined or get sued.

realtor.com
homes.com
trulia.com
zillow.com
gsmls.com
msx.mlxchange.com (middlesex county mls) (Your local mls)
craigslist, googlebase, point2nls, realtor.com, zillow.com, backpage.com, clrsearch.com, nytimes.com, city cribs, homescape, oodle.com, hotpads.com, condo.com, vast.com, house.com, live deal, clickablecitydirectory.com, cyberhomes.com, thehousingpages.com, videohomes.com, ebay real estate, realestatejournal.com and many more but lets not forget their local MLS systems which will give the most coverage to qualified, you hope! Buyers...

That was the short list anyway.... Boy I'm a wealth of knowledge huh?
By the way, if you'd like to watch some do it yourself, sell it on your own videos, I have them available to you to watch in my office, free of charge, no strings attached...
BUT...
Should you ever choose to use a realtor, all I ask is that you would consider using my services. sound Fair?

Good Luck...

The number one site for our area is still Realtor.com which to be posted there you will need a Realtor on your local MLS. If I can be of any assistance please don't hesitate to contact me directly. Check out my website athttp:// www.MillerSalesGroup.com and read my internet marketing plan, especially as a featured agent on Realtor.com. Our market is selling quite well since the beginning of the year don't short change yourself.

It's my understanding that you can post your home on Postlets.com, and that will feed to Trulia as well.

You can't, this site is fed from MLS feeds so to be listed, you have to be on the MLS.

Hi Julia,
In order to have your home listed on alot of sites you see on the internet, you have to have your home listed with an agent.

Here is what Trulia says about where they get their listings:

Where do the listings on Trulia.com come from?
The listings on Trulia come from the sites of thousands of listing brokers and agents across the U.S. We operate under a free-to-join, free-to-leave policy and add listings to our database by crawling real estate sites and extracting listing information or via listing data feeds provided by a listing broker or agent, their vendor or MLS.

I hope this helps.

Take care!

A local realtor can help you with this. Where are you located?
