You can use packages such as tool kit cma to prepare a nice pdf with the info you put in but I agree. It doesnt matter how pretty it is, its how well you know your stuff that matters.

I dont even bring stuff with me to get listings in terms of a formal package. I bring clients properties and show the prospective client what I am doing for them now.

Sellers do not list with agents with the best listing package. They list with the agent that they think can sell their home. IOW even if you had the best listing package, if you do not possess the professional and people skills, you will not get the listing.

Talk with the top agent in your office and ask them how they get their listings. If they don't want to help, you might want to look into another broker. I like Keller Williams because we share almost everything. In my first week my broker GAVE me his listing package and offered to help me practice.
