I need to know if this house was sold more than once in the last 3 years.
Also the transfer records for all property in your area are part of your municipal records. Find we you can acces those on line for your area. I just checked google. "los angelos property transfers" and there are links to your tax assessors office with property transfer info.
You can start working with a real estate agent and they can order a property profile to tell you how long ago the house was sold. It would take only a matter of 5 minutes to have one done. FInd a good agent that you can start working with and he/she will be valuable to you. Most title companies do things online these days and I, myself, have access to this data base 24/7 which is awesome. Let me know if you need me to help you find an agent in your area! I would not rely on Zillow. Even though it is fun to look there, the values they place on homes sometimes can be wrong!
Thanks,

As a consumer, you can obtain this information from the Los Angeles County Recorder's Office, but you'll need to go there in person rather than searching online. Likely you'll need to go to the office that serves the location that you're looking at, rather than the one closest to your home. Los Angeles County does not provide this information online to the public, as they consider it to be a breach of privacy for certain government employees and public officials.
As stated with other responses, you can also get this information via a title search. You can request this through a title company or through a Realtor that you're working with.
I'm sorry. I listed Orange County's Tax Site by mistake. Here is the link for Los Angeles County.
The best resource is to contact a title insurance company either directly or through a broker/agent. That will provide you with an extensive informational packet on the property description, Grant Deeds, Trust Deeds, public record filings, neighborhood data, recent comparable sales, a parcel map view and lots of other demographic and community data.
Another resource is to logon to the county tax assessors office online information and pull up the tax info on the parcel. That helps some cursory info regarding the lot and title description/data. The property tax info data should give you the answer to your question if you simply need to know about title transfer dates. If you know the name of the homeowner you may be able to access the information using the same site listed but look under grantor/grantee index search. Good luck!
Janice,
You should be able to get any sales history from the Municipality. Of course, they would have information on each owner of record for property tax purposes.
That is probably the easiest way to get that information.
Hi Janice,
You can ask either a title rep. or an agent. That information i don't think is open to the public. An agent can find that out for you in seconds through the local MLS.
