FIRST ANSWER

Although you do not reference an address or specific property, I am guessing the "sale" price you see may be data from a lender taking a property back through foreclosure. The "sale" data you see is actually the recordation of a Trustee's Deed by the lender. It can be a bit confusing to see that sales price, for sure! Trulia does not make a distinction between an actual sale, and this type of recordation.
