You can find a directory of Accredited Staging Professionals at http://www.stagedhomes.com .
Some of the professeional stagers who are listed are also real estate agents who do not charge for the staging advice. It is included as part of their listing services.

Sam,

Glad to see you watch HGTV. For those homes, did you happen to notice, they staged them with furniture. If your home has none, there will be additional costs. Just something to consider before choosing.

There are some local Stagers available on the website below. Select Home Stagers from the choices and narrow the search to Wayne or adjacent Counties http://activerain.com/states/MI

I applaud you for considering staging. Many people watch the TV show(s) on staging, agree that it's important and then refuse to invest the money to have a stager help them.
My home stager does a great job at a reasonable price. Her name is Heather Roberts. You can reach her at 248-842-5979 or online at http://www.TheEnglishTouchOnline.com. Tell her Scott sent you.
Good Luck!

I would recommend you discuss your needs with a local Realtor and go from there. You need someone that understands the local market and can advise you of what investment/repairs should be made to maximize your property's cash flow.

There is a big difference between preparing a home as a rental and for sale. No sense wasting time, money, and effort, so discussing your objectives will with an objective point of view.

Let me start by saying that some of what is portrayed on HGTV is not realistic in terms of time or cost required to stage a home. Your best bet is to find a stager in your area and contact them to provide you with a proposal for costs associated with your project. Staging can definitely help your property stand out from the competition and a professional stager can make recommendations to help you get the most return on your investment. Best of luck!
