That is going to depend on a few factors such as where you live and how expensive will the finish be. Are you planning on selling soon or will you get some enjoyment out of it? How large is the home without the finish? In some cases it would be better to let the new owner finish the work so it will fit thier particular needs.

Typically, buyers will choose a home with a finished basement over a home without a finished basement, however they, in most cases are not willing to pay the additional price. If you are considering finishing your basement it is best that you plan on staying in your home to enjoy the improvement. In todays market the best updates and ones that you will get a return on your investment when selling is: Kitchen upgrades, Bathroom upgrades and upgrades to the exterior of your home
