Angie, I would recommend that you look at listings on the internet, on both realtor.com and here on Trulia.com. If you want the harder working agents. Actually, the "top selling" agent can be deceiving. The top selling agent frequently is not the one to give you the best service. Actually, a newer agent can be a very good choice, because they are enthusiastic and ready to work. "A hungry agent is a good agent!" Ask around, stop at a few offices and see how you get treated when you walk in the door. Your greeting that you receive can say alot about the work environment the agent works in! Good luck! Ask for referrals, too--as we are frequently "referral" driven. As the buyer, you don't pay the bill, so put your efforts into choosing wisely!

Top sellers are not always your best bet. Hardest working is. I know second year agents that work circles around top sellers. Many promise the world then pan you off onto their "assistants" after the listing has been signed.

Be aware that most of the top agents will be a part of a team or possibly a relocation director. This means they get credit for the sales in that area although they were not actually the agent who sold the home.

In addition if you are searching for a realtor to list your home many in the Monroe and Athens area are only registered with the GAMLS listing service. You want to be sure any agent you list with participates with FMLS as well as GAMLS to ensure you get maximum exposure.

We recommend that you do a search of your ZIP code in REALTOR.com and see which agents have th most significant presence and seem to be doing to the best and most thorough marketing of their listings. They should at least have the Showcase Homes feature (yellow highlighted listings) and utilize all the features offered, including Enhanced Descriptive Text, Multiple Photo with captions, Distinctive Headline, and the attention-getting 'crawl', along with full contact information (not just a broker's office number). To test their responsiveness, call each one and see who answers their phone or how long it takes for them to call you back .
To see an example, search for our listings in our ZIP code (Marietta-30062) . We don't service your area (are you in Monroe?), but there should be numerous agents locally and in Athens that can help you.
