Ken,
As the other agents said there most likely was a listing brokerage and a selling brokerage, in NYC it would easier to find out who the listing agent was. How long ago did it sell? Where is is located? I might be able to find out if you send me that information. Let me know if you haven't found out already and if you aren't working with a broker yet ,please contact me as I may have a buyer for you and /or would be able to help you get it sold!

Ken,

Do you think that the same broker will sell your home? Chances are it's the buyers broker who made that sale happen, you can on the other hand find out who the listing broker was.
What was the address of the house and when was it sold? By House do you mean a TownHouse or an apartment?
My current manager is a TownHouse specialist, sold them for over 20 years and knows just about every single building here, especially upper east side, now I'm not sure where your home is.
Let me know, and I can look it up.

Chances are, there were two companies responsible for the sale of that home on your block. The listing company which did an outstanding job promoting and marketing the listing. And the company which represented the buyer(s).

Ask neighbors.

Or

Ask a local Realtor (but they'll try and sell you on why you should use them).

Contact an agent if the house sold thru MLS it would be posted in those archieves of listing and buyers agent. Most MLS files go back for agents up to 3 years
