PC is a good way for a Broker to set themselves up for Tax Purposes. Otherwise no particular reason and no Quality or special skills are associated with these designations. I would look at experience and referrals over designations anyday.

Jim is correct in explaining QSC (Quality Service Certified) and Holly is correct in decoding the acronym PC (Personal Corporation). Any broker who operates under a Personal Corporation must always accompany the company's name (usually the Brokers full name) with PC afterwards. So say the Brokers name is Joe Smith and he operates under a PC. He must always market and advertise as Joe Smith, PC. This resolves him of being personally responsible or liable in the event he is sued so you can not go after his house or personal belongings. There are also a multitude of tax benefits to operating under a PC.
As for QSC, that is simply additional training or education that a broker has completed in order to earn that designation. There are certain requirements which each designation demands in order to qualify to receive the designation itself. You will see many Realtors operating under a multitude of designations. Some of the most common are GRI, ABR, CRS and CRE. I should point out that even though a Realtor has acquired those designations, it does not guarantee he/she is superior to one who does not have those designations. I hope this answers your question. QSC means "quality service certified"
It basically means they have taken a class, and passed a test, in how to provide quality service to their customers, clients, and community. The company that provides the course also surveys the customers of its trainees, to rate the quality of the trainee's perfomance. The theory behind the company's designation product is that consumers want assurances of agent competence as a compettion to the traditional rating of how many houses an agetn sold and how much money did those sales represent. Link to that company is below, a glossary for other designations is in the bottom web reference. http://www.qualityservice.org/whyqsc.aspx Sat Nov 24 2007, 13:27 Web Reference: http://www.erealtyonline.net/gloss.html

The initials after a Realtor's name usually stand for the Professional Designation's they have obtained. We sometime kiddingly call them alphabet soup. Unfortunately many times the consumer has no idea what they stand for. They do represent a higher degree of education like a BA, BS, MA or PHD. Hope this helps.
