I agree that you should interview multiple agents…however Keith, to state that every agent with multiple listings won’t care if your home does or does not sell is a real stretch. In fact, hiring an agent with 10 listings in a specific neighborhood, who has a support staff could actually be an added benefit to a seller. Bottom line, you want an agent with experience in every type of market, one who represents the buyers or sellers through the whole process and someone who has knowledge of your neighborhood. When you interview a realtor be sure to get their past and current references.
I think it is my co-worker but he is really busy right now. I'm available and close to the top!

You are confusing sales volume with your own personal home. Do you really want a Realtor that has 10 other listings? They know that some will sell, some won't, so one listing is not that important to them.
I would interview three Realtors and compare their proposals. In a declining market you want the best Realtor for your situation who will focus on getting your home sold for top dollar.
That information cannot be verified with NWMLS stats right now. However, the top office is clearly Windermere HKW in Lynnwood. In your zip code they have the greatest market share of sales and listings (whether by volume or units), and the highest sales price/list price ratio. They are followed by Re/Max, JLS, and CBBain. This is based on NWMLS data. Good luck.
Harry,
If you mean listing agent, James' post makes an excellent point. A number one could sell the most number, but leave tons of their sellers' money on the table. You should interview some, and find one that is a fit for you. The link at the bottom is to my blog that could possibly help with the process. Finding the right agent can be hard work, but unfortunately many worthwhile things don't come easy.

Are you asking about listing agents or selling agents? Selling agent is the technical name for the buyer's agent. Listing agent is the one that represents sellers.
Define your criteria for "top." Are you talking about volume? List price? List price to sale price ratio? Days on market? Lots and lots and lots of variables. It depends on what you're looking for.
Didn’t find what you were looking for? Ask a question!
