Response from Chris Skrip:
For the year ending 2008, which was a difficult year for most Realtors, I ranked #6 in Beaufort MLS based on dollar volume sold. I sold $7,265,732 in volume in 2008 which was spread over 27 transaction sides. I am the Broker-in-Charge and Owner of RE/MAX Sea Island Realty located at the corner of Charles and Craven Streets in downtown historic Beaufort South Carolina. I advertise extensively on the internet and print advertising, including but not limited to, http://www.realtor.com (enhanced), http://www.zillow.com, http://www.trulia.com, http://www.homesandland.com, http://www.homesofbeaufort.com, http://www.remax.com and over 25 additional websites. I post your home on Beaufort MLS and HIlton Head MLS, which equates to more exposure for your home. I have a full-time licensed assistant, Gretchen Krapf, that is available M-F 8:30-5:00, so even when I am out of the office showing property, you will be able to reach Gretchen by calling 843-986-2403.
I would enjoy being selected as your Realtor of Choice in Beaufort SC.

Hello,
Thanks for your question! I am Realtor in Beaufort, as well as a Beaufort native(my family has been here for 300 years!). I would be happy to help you with the sale of your house, but right now I would like to answer your question. When choosing a Realtor, I believe it is important to select an agent who works full-time in the real estate business, and works for a reputable, full-time company. Be sure that the company is a member of the local Multiple Listing Service(don't assume that they are). Be sure that the company has a strong internet presence, since the National Association of Realtors claims that about 87% of home-buyers begin their search for a home on the internet. Once you are satisfied that your selected agent has met your criteria, remember that the main things that sell a properly-marketed home are price and location, and location can be overcome by the right price. If your home is over-priced for the market, no agent can sell it, no matter how many sales he/she has had. Your agent will prepare a market analysis for your home to help you determine its market value.
I hope that helps a little, and if you have any further questions, please call or email:

Dear Rkleinsr,
You are asking an intersting question. Even more important than the number of sales, is to find a realtor that you can work with!
Having the highest number of sales isn't as important as being able to comfortably work with that real estate agent.
You want to find an agent that encompasses the professionalism and communication style that is the best fit for you.
For example you may be highly computer savvy and want automatic emails and text messages as the first line of communication. There might be an agent in Beaufort with a high number of sales, but may not up to speed with technology. That agent wouldn't be a good fit for you.
My suggestion is for you to research agents in that area through googling, asking around, and perhaps stopping into a few real estate office.
Then interview a few agents you think might be right for you and get a feel for what it would be like to work with that agent. This interview step will enable you to make your decision based on how well you connect with that realtor, not necessarily on how many sales they have had.
In my experience, there are all sorts of styles of realtors out there --- your time is important, make sure you are working with someone you are comfortable with.
If you have any interest in the greater Charleston SC area I'd be happy to help you!

Hi R Klein Sr.,
That would take quite a bit of research to answer correctly and could be outdated by the time you have your answer. If you are selling a property, I would recommend that you find a "Top Listing Agent" within the better, more reputable Brokers in the area. These agents work well with home sellers and would have the resources available for marketing your property to the fullest. If you are looking to purchase a property, as for a Top Selling Agent. These agents work well with home buyers and are skilled at listening to your wants and needs for a home and finding the right properties to present to you.
I would be happy to help you with the research and have an agent contact you. Please refer to the website below.
Best Wishes,
