We are trying to sell our house in Slinger, but there just seems to be a ton of houses on the market.

Steve, if you look at the statistics in MLS you'll find the following:

37 single family homes sold since 6/9/2009
42 single family homes currently on the market
Average number of days on the market in Slinger for 2009 is 107 for sold properties.

Based on the absorption rate (rate that properties are selling) there is currently a 13.6 month supply of homes on the market in Slinger (given that no more homes come on the market). In layman's terms - that's a lot! We as Realtors would like to see about 5-6 months supply to have a more balanced market. Anything over 6 months would be considered a buyers market and anything less than 5 would be a seller's market.

I don't know if you're trying to sell it on your own or through an agent, but there's a lot more information that an agent should be able to provide you.

Hopefully this information helps.

Well, lets see -- being born and raised in West Bend (next door neighbor to Slinger) it is good. There are many options available and prices are very reasonable. Call me with any questions you might have!

The market is a buyer's market, however, the Slinger/Hartford area is one of the areas in SE WI where we see growth and demand. Remember, to price your house right at the get go, price it right for a quick sale.
