Well Linda......I think your agent made you an offer you can't (or shouldnt) refuse !!
I'd take a copy of that email into his manager's office, and say you'd like to take him up on his offer. The manager or Broker of record can always assign another agent to handle your listing.

Now.....it's possible your agent has a strange sense of humor, and he or she thought they were being funny, but that attitude and response certainly doesn't come across funny. . We all can make mistakes, and I have seen prices of homes change in a day......obviously because an error had been made. I don't know that I would change agents due to a mistake....however....a snippy attitude isn't the way to hande any issue.

If your relationship has been affected and negatively impacted by his or her unprofessional response, then you need to move on. This is too important of a transaction not to feel comfortable with the agent you have selected.

Best wishes in whatever you decide....

I can only tell you what i would do. I would follow your agent's advice just this one time and fire him. Then find a professional agent who has ability and desire to do what he/she is being hired to do.

Keep the email your agent sent you and print as much of the inaccurate data as possible, then call his Broker and explain why you wish to terminate the listing agreement. If the Broker balks, offer to send him/her the proof that the agent lacks even a basic level of business competence.

I would fire him ASAP!

Well... I'm not a realtor, but once when I bought a home full of misstatements about the specs, the realtor also offered me an out when I brought it up. I didn't take it and it was the biggest mistake I ever made. Tact or no tact aside you deserve a realtor that will get the details straight from the beginning.
