What are the safest neighborhoods in the city of Miami? I also need information about the transit system for the sections that I'm looking to buy in.

Low crime, no home invasions, rapes, or murders.

A Realtor should not get involved in a discussion regarding the safety of a neighborhood as he/she may somehow be violating the rights of a protected class (anti-discrimination law). You can check the crime statistics of a particular neighborhood by visiting the local police department, Miami-Dade County's website or the site of a particular municipality.

I'll start with the safety question: Unfortunately there is no truly safe neighborhood in Miami, or in any neighborhood across the nation for that matter. Crimes happen even in the safest, gated, high security neighborhoods and often they are crimes of opportunity - if you let your guard down, aren't aware of your surroundings, aren't vigilent or take the necessary precautions to be safe. With that said, there are some neighborhoods that have better statistics than others. As for the transit system, the public transportation system in Miami is improving. Naturally, if you live in the downtown / Brickell / South Miami area, you will have convenient access to the MetroMover (free transit) and MetroRail (pay per ride). If you live in the suburbs, there are transit busses that will connect you to the trains. Also cities like Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Downtown / Brickell, Coconut Grove and Homestead even have free trolly service that operate throughout the day/night and weekends.
