Ttile co. didnt collect county tax at settlement. Requesting a check from us to buyer, settlement weeks ago.

I've seen this happen before. Worse, they could put a lien on any future property you buy so better to correct it now than later. Good luck! Cher

Unfortunately, sometimes there are errors/oversights and this sounds like one of those. If you used a Maryland contract, then yes, by contract, you are responsible to pay for taxes, hoa etc. for time that you owned the home.

Have you contacted your agent regarding this matter? That is the first step that you need to take if you had an agent representing you that listed your property, you need to contact that person first.

Taxes must be paid for the state and county taxes and if you had not paid them, then yes...you are due to pay the portion you owe for the time you owned the property.
