Seeking a honest South Philly Agent to sell my home-

Hello June,

It's great that you are being upfront about how you want your house sold.
It makes an agent's job easier when a seller is upfront. I'm sure that there are many great agents in your area.

However, how will you know if any agent is this way? I guess the only way to find out is to see agents profiles, find out about their experience as listing agents (different from buyer's agent), check out their testimonials/referrals...

At the same time, while personal qualities, like honesty, responsibility (returning calls etc) is absolutely a requirement - it's not enough to sell your home. What if this agent is doing all that you mentioned, but does not do a good job marketing your property?

So, when interviewing agents for the job, ask what they will do to market your place: what websites they will be getting your house "exposure" on, ask about staging and getting that top dollar for you.

I never heard of anyone asking a fee up front. I live and work heavily in South Phialdelphia.
This is a great time to list your property. There is a lot of buyer sentiment in South Philadephia currently.

Yes, thats what and agent from plummers real estate mention to me in order to list my property when he knows that he's getting a fee. Doesn't make sense to me.

Honestly and good communication and no upfront fees should be the bare minimum of what you can expect from any agent. Thank you but you never visit and this has become a huge problem with myself and so- called brokers. If you are going to stick to your word = then I would take that as honesty indeed. Now, on the other hand- you do not have the right to contact me on this site and you are pro- choice when it comes to visiting certain properties... I'm threw with this type of work that you & others on this site claim to help homeowners sale their property. NOT TRUE SERVICE AT ALL = ENJOY

In some markets 6% is the very low end of what a REALTOR will accept to take on business that requires such a commitment from the REALTOR. My advice to you is to interview several associates and hold them accountable to what they agree they will do for the agreed commission, generally, here, a REALTOR will lay out what they do for 6%, 7%, and 8% commission. It is up to you to decide your own level of service based on what you are willing to pay.

6% is pretty standard in Philadelphia. There are a lot of broker companies that only charge 5% and very few that charge 7%.

June i think you should do your search in person. The best agent for you to work with is someone that can fit your needs.If I remember right you had another post here looking for other information. Please protect your self and find an agent that can show and earn your trust so before you list talk in person with at lease 3 agent to find one to start to work with.
