My house is listed on MLS (#528610) (through Century 21) but it does not appear on the Trulia website. Why?

Many agents or brokerages do not send your home to all the search engines and websites available. We have our listings listed on over 50 websites, plus on a daily basis get resubmitted to several other search engines to get the home sold, on top of that we also have a property specific website for the home. Unfortunelty depending on what type of listing you have. Not all discount brokerages give less service. We list for 5% and advertise more than most 6-7% firms. I would touch base with your agent to find out for sure where your home is being advertised.
If there is anything we can help you with, feel free to give us a call or an email, we offer free, no obligation answers for all your real estate needs.

Colleen,
You have a very nice home. Unfortunately you listed with a discount brokerage and by looking at the MLS sheet you probably paid a flat fee for getting your home in the MLS database. The only website that links directly to the Triad area MLS is Listingbook.com. Your home has been listed for 5 days now and usually it takes my listings 24 to 48 hours to filter up to Trulia depending on which websites I use. My listings go on usually up to 40 different websites depending on the target market for that home. I believe in target marketing where we look at the home, area, and all contributing factors and then determine the make up of the most likely buyers. We then target our advertising and web presence to that market. I can see by the listing that all appointments are to call you which means that you probably just paid a flat fee to get your home listed in the MLS database. That was a good move to get it visible to all the agents and buyers in this area but, it will stop there. There are some sites you can put your home on as a homeowner but Trulia is not one of them. There are some ways to get it on through other websites though.
I would also suggest taking more pictures of the inside of the home. With all the inventory out there you are competing with if the buyers that are looking cannot see the inside they may pass by your home for one they can preview online.

Hope this helps,

If your realtor advertises on Trulia, it should be on here in a few days. There are hundreds of real estate sites. Your broker/agent may use sites specific to your locale as well as the national sites such as Zillow and Trulia etc.

Sometimes it takes a little while for homes to filter up to a site, providing your brokerage is set up to post to sites such as Trulia. You should check with your brokerage firm for clarification.
