I am a home owner who has recently placed my home for sale as a for sales by owner but i placed it on the MLS as a flat fee home.. My house is on 2.5 acres and is less than five minutes from Ballantyne but with the low SC taxes. It is very private and fits the bill for any one seekign a awsome house on land-what can i do to get info out about my pending open house?

Give your home to a real estate broker who will work for you with full service to market and close on your property. You pay for what you get in this world and in real estate, it is far better to have full service.

Jason,

I would print up some nice flyers with the info including a photo, and take them personally to some RE offices. I would shake some hands and put a face and a personality with the house. Be sure to advise them if you're having food, snacks, or any beverages. :) See more on doing a FSBO with the info attached to the two links below. Good luck.

If your home is on the MLS then the REALTORS have the information. The networking of local REALTORS cannot be underestimated and sadly some flat rate companies may not have the local presence to get the word out. As I am sitting here, I have tweetdeck open with constant networking on both twitter and Facebook with other local REALTORS. Plus there are other websites that I use to network with REALTORS from not just around the state but around the world. Every time I leave the house, I see some one either in the business or a former client/customer. And I talk to them about real estate as it might apply. Flat rate listings often miss this critical aspect.

The best thing I can suggest is hosting a REALTOR open house. It will need to be from 11AM to 1PM, serve a catered lunch and have the attendees put their cards in a bowl for drawings for giveaways. Print up flyers and deliver them to all the local real estate offices.

Hi Home Seller! Trulia also has a place to post Open House times and dates. Your local newspaper, craigslist.com, etc. You should be able to post the time and date for your Open House on the MLS too! If you find that you are not getting the traffic you are looking for, I will be glad to help anyway I can with your real estate needs!

Have a great day!

Sincerely,
