Is it possible to get on MLS without the help of a realtor?

Asked by Brianjdonley, 14051 Fri May 18, 2012

I'm seeling my house through America's Choice and am paying a 1% commission to get an MLS listing. Is it possible to get on MLS without their help?

Multiple Listing Services (there are over 700 of them in the U.S.) are basically databases that Realtors use to advertise their listings to other Realtors.

They are created by, maintained by and paid for by their Realtor members. So, they do not allow, nor encourage participation by non-Realtors.

MLS is one of the advantages of working with a realtor. You really do get what you pay for. I would bet that your showings would increase drastically if you went with a full service realtor.

No, Multiple Listing Service is for Realtors only; not even state licensed real estate agents can get on, only Realtors.

Hi Brianjdonley,

The only people who can access MLS's are Realtors.

Unfortunately no--why not consider working with an agent...
