Your goal when you sell is to net as much profit as you can when you close escrow. In order to do that, you need a professional, an expert that knows three things:
1. Your home
2. Your local market trends and values
3. Your personal situation
I would be happy to refer you to a top Realtor in your area for an interview. You could also pick two of the Realtors that posted responses to your question. Then compare their answers, and select the Realtor that you think can do the best job.
Real estate is like playing chess. It requires excellent strategy to win.
Good luck!
Hi Jeju,
As shared by the other agents who have responded, when you "put a house on the market" it does mean that you are making that home available to be seen and purchased by someone. When I work with Sellers, we spend time prior to signing the listing agreement (which obligates you to a particular Realtor for a specific period of time at a set commission rate) talking about what needs to be done prior to the actual "launch date" when it is placed in MLS and released to the public for sale. The Seller can help prepare the home for sale by making sure it is in good condition both inside and out and the agent is responsible for preparing the marketing tools that they will be using to showcase the home to others.
If you have further questions or are considering selling your home, I'd welcome the opportunity to meet with you. I have worked and lived in the Seminole County/Lake Mary area for more than 35 years and would be happy to stop by at a time when it's convenient.
As one of the tools I used to promote my listings, check out my Blog site below.

Putting it on the market is the term for signing a listing agreement on your home for a designated price. Your home is then considered available to be shown, get offers and get it sold. You should spoeak with a trusted Realtor who specializes with homes like yours in your area. They willbe able toguide you through each step of teh selling process from getting your house ready to be shown to setting a price. Good luck with selling your home
Hi Jeju:
This normally refers to a property being offered for sale through a realtor. But it can also mean that a property is for sale through an owner. The term "market" can mean different things to different people, but the exposure and marketing a realtor brings to the table when representing your interests is great.
I would be happy to help you with any other questions you might have. I grew up in Lake Mary and consider it to be the best place to live! Please feel free to contact me at 407-461-5041 anytime.
Jeju:
Putting your house on the market is making it available for sale. When you do make it available you should be know what other homes are selling for and have your plans for what you are doing next. Your house should be ready to be shown as soon as it "goes on the maket' as first impressions do count. I live in Lake Mary and work full time in real estate so if you have addittional questions call me 407-230-7140 or email me Alan@AlanSalerno.com
