In New Jersey Who pays State Tax Stamp deed fees Buyer or seller?

I am sedlling a home and I see on the closing the cost is being charged to me

Yes, Jtolino - the seller pays this fee, referred to as the NJ State Tansfer Fee ( the "RTF"). As you have found out by now, it is based on the purchase price of the home.

The good news is, if you're a senior citizen- you get a discount!

By the way, if the home is selling for over 1 million, the buyers get to pay a transfer fee/tax, too (lucky them!). They have to pay 1% of the purchase price!

If you are referring to either NJ State Transfer Tax, the seller pays. The seller pays for the deed . A deed is generally $85.00 to 100.00 depending on the attorney that prepares it. Recording fees are minimal.
