Your question, "Can I make my own website for the listing?" would be a resounding YES...if it complies with the 'single purpose' use required by the MLS.
There may be real advantages in doing this, but none of those advantages are identified in your question. This may indicate that such advantages do not exist therefore may prove to be detrimental to your sale objectives.
Be aware, real buyers are not on Zillow or Trulia. Real buyers are using real tools. Your strategy may have more merit than others are acknowledging if you are an SEO expert and have access to the real tools prepared buyers are using.
So, in your specific situation...who knows what is best for you, .... there simply is not sufficient information.

If you create a virtual tour, then you can add to the MLS Trend database. Usually the Real Estate Broker you hire will create the marketing for your listing, including links to web sites.

My suggestion would be to invest that time in getting the best agent to represent you. Knowledgeable agent will be able to help you with all aspects of marketing your home including a specific website. Even if you pay for all possible traffic to your site and have multiple site names directed to it, your website will not be as effective in drawing qualified buyers as it wold be a site such as http://www.PruFoxRoach.com or at http://www.BrankaDoych.com Your website needs to be supported by a capable agent who will be sure to have your home will be pulled by all search engines and to all major real estate sites.
