When you say "list" what exactly is it that you are wanting to do? Normally, when people use the term "list," it refers to the Multiple List System used by Realtors. If that is what you mean, then I don't know of a way you could do it for free. All Realtors pay a sizable amount of money each year to subscribe to this system. We would all be out of business if we volunteered our services. If you simply are speaking about advertising your home--you could try sites like Craigslist which are free. Hope this answers your question, if not--please clarify.

Do you have the capability to screen your potential tenant - are you going to maintain the property, collect your own rent - in my 35 years in the business I always recommend professional property management - they will make sure you get good credit worthy tenants and can normally get you more for your rent than you can - I find it pays for itself - if nothing more than just peace of mind - you won't get the calls in the middle of the night when some kid has tried to flush a toy down the toilet or lots of other calamities! Hi Tammy

Craiglist and Backpage are free for renters and good sources.

There is a free classifieds site that seems worth giving a try as a possible alternative to craigslist and you can post home and apartment rentals for for free, http://www.finditclassifieds.com/housing.

FinditClassifieds.com says it has been online since 1997 and that it has many anti-spam and anti-fraud features and that it is more family friendly than many other sites since it does not have personals or any sex related ads.

I would ad it to my list of free classifieds sites for sure.

My clients have used craigslist to success. You might look into posting the home at your place of employment - some employers allow you to do that as well.

Hope that helps.

You can also try Detelli.com. I found it very easy to use, and they sent my listing to a bunch of other sites for free.

Best bet is to have a property management company or real estate broker rent the house for you. They are very good at screening prospective tenants and obtaining rental & credit reports. I don't work in the Waldorf area but have several collegues who do. If you want a referral give me a call.

Ditto - my vote's for CraigsList.com. You'll be amazed at the things you can sell, buy, trade, rent, find, etc...

I Agree with Lisa, Craigslist is a great option for you. You could also try fsbo.com who have various pricing structures and possibly one that is cheap enough or free or backpage.com which also has a free posting service.
