the agent that I listed it with and another at the same agency. I am being told that i have to work with both agents separately and not to share information on the offers with either. The broker said it is not in my interest to do so. Is this normal? Or ethical?
I am assuming you mean you have two offers. Your listing agent has one buyer, and another agent at the same brokerage has another buyer. I am in the same situation. If that is the case, you shouldn’t be talking to the other agent at all. Both offers should be going thru your listing agent.
Hi,
Congrats on the offers!!
You should speak with the manager of the real estate company and get a clear answer in regards to dual agency. They will be best able to guide you. If they cant guide you clearly and ethically, to your satisfaction, go to someone that will.
Best of Luck to you,

It is a dual agency scenerio, discuss the situation with your agent's office manager, who is a neutral party.

Some brokers require that if multiple offers are coming in, and one of the offers is from the listing agent, that the broker or office manager be present for the presentation of offers.
I do not know what the New York laws are regarding dual agency, however you should have a discussion with your Realtor regarding dual representation so you both have a clear understanding as to how all offers will be dealt with in a fair and above-board manner.
The good news is that you have offers. That is great!
It sounds like you have a multiple offer situation? Which is great. It just happens to be your listing agent and one of their co-workers bringing in the buyers? Interesting situation.
