If you are referring to the listing agents, they would have been the ones who had their signs in the yards of the homes that were for sale. The people who purchased the property, had buyers agents who represented them in the purchase. The names of both can be found in the MLS or you could even ask your new neighbors. That being said, the most important thing about choosing an agent is that you have great report and that they know the area well. You want to be able to talk to them about any concerns you may have share regular open and honest communication. Anyone can put up a sign in your yard, it takes a good agent to get it sold. Do you like their marketing plan? Do they have fresh and creative ideas for bringing in buyers? Do they know how to price it to get the most activity and the best sales price?

There are so many resources online that can aid you in the kind of research you are wanting to accomplish. If you go onto a site, such as Redfin, you can find out tons of information about the homes you want to look into. Redfin will show you what the house sold for and a lot of other information too. You do have to search a bit for the agent's name (they are not trying to advertise that!), but on the listing I saw the agent's name was under the picture of the house. Good luck to you!
There are hundreds of agents to choose from and ultimately when you are selling you want to find the person who you feel like you can trust to best represent you through the process of listing, marketing & ultimately selling your home.
