Hi Carroll,
A good place to start is talk to a local REALTOR and have him/her evaluate your property in the current market. And guess what ? You are in luck, I'm a local REALTOR! If you provide me the address of the property, I will provide you a comparative market analysis to see where you are in terms of fair market value. I serve the Greater Waterbury area and a majority of my transactions are in Waterbury. I am also a resident in the Bunker Hill section.

You should also talk to a local attorney about your situation in regards to any legal or tax issues you might have. I could also provide you a list of reputable attorneys in the area you could talk to.

I invite you to email me at pmaloney99@yahoo.com or visit the link to my website below.

Hi Carroll,

I good place to start is to contact an attorney to make sure all legal affairs are in order. Once that is settled, than interview at least three realtors for the job. You would want to see what they can do to market this home efficently and reach a broad audiance for this particular home. Its important to have a great marketing plan in place, since Waterbury is a challenging market at the moment, with lots of competition on the market.

Feel free to check out my website to get a feel for who I am, and if you need anymore advice, do not hesitate to ask. Kristina@prudentialct.com Website http://www.CT247RealEstate.com

I wish you lots of luck! :)

The best place to start would be to hire a real estate agent and list the home to sell. It sounds as though the home may need work, so you will need to be sure to list the home at a price that reflects its condition as well as your desire to sell quickly.

Being that an inheritance and a life estate is involved here, you should be sure to speak with a real estate attorney to make sure everything is in order regards to the title of the home - if you cannot deliver clear title to the home to the new buyers, then you will not be able to sell the home.
